The city has seven state museums: Museum of Local History, Art museum, Reserve "Field of Poltava Battle", the Literary-memorial museum of Kotlyarevskii, P. Myrny, V. Korolenko, Museum of Aviation and Astronautics of Y. Kondratyuk.
