Trostianets founded in the middle of XVII century by settlers from the Right-Bank of Ukraine, and the first written mention of it dates back to 1660, when the church was built. In 1720 Tsar Peter I granted the town to his confessor T. Nadarzhinskiy, whose name at the end of XVIII century.passes into the possession of Prince Golitsyn. With them there were built all have survived to the present architectural monuments of religious and civil purposes in the city.
On the basis of natural oak forests on the banks of a pond at the end of XVIII century was laid the park. At the beginning of the next century is being built palace, buildings, an artificial grotto, and other park facilities. In the 1820's in the center of the city appears round the yard or riding, a circus. This is probably the only facility of its kind in the country which have survived, albeit in a more ascetic than the original form. Next to him is the manor house, where in 1864 he lived Tchaikovsky.
